Eagan's Wings Story
Kathy Eagan has had Stage 4 Breast Cancer since September of 2000. Given a grim prognosis on day 1, it has been 25 years and she is still fighting this disease. After a double mastectomy and a brain tumor at the beginning of the diagnosis, chemotherapy and herceptin have kept Kathy alive. The fight goes on with new challenges, most recently dealing with mobility issues due to neuropathy and cancer in her legs. She is fighting her battle with tenacity and wit with the support from her family and friends.
Kathy has never been in remission, phasing through countless treatments over the years. Just when we believe she's exhausted all treatment options, new drugs become available. We're so blessed that she has lived long enough to see new advancements in medicine that have continued to keep her alive. This is why our family is dedicated to raising money for breast cancer research, to continue to give my mom and patients with metastatic breast cancer treatment options and a chance at survival.
Eagan's Wings was started as a support group for Kathy and other Breast Cancer Survivors back in 2000 and continues to gather today! Over the years, family and friends have continued to share generously to raise money for Breast Cancer Research and Patient Assistance. We are so proud to now have the Eagan's Wings Fund at the University of Minnesota Cancer Center where 100% of the profits go towards breast cancer research. Thank you for your support of this amazing cause!
